Responsibilities:

  1. In support of the strategic direction of the company, plan and direct all aspects of the Purchasing function within the plant and drive results through your direct hands-on initiative, as well as SCM direct reports and/or SCM worldwide organization.
  2.  The Purchasing function can include Purchasing, MRP inventory management, & MRO. Strong linkage to Procurement, Plant Operations, and company SCM team.
  3. Generate and present reports on Purchasing performance against KPI’s (OTD to internal Production, Inventory Aging and Inventory E&O) during management reviews
  4. Responsible for the transactional purchase process. Using ERP system, determine MRP and Purchasing requirements to include what to buy, the appropriate quantity, and when to pull in / push out. Ensure manufacturing is not shut down due to supply.
  5. Promote continuous improvement within the Purchasing group, as well as interface across SCM and Plant Operations by periodically reviewing practices and procedures to ensure they meet current needs. Identify opportunities for improvement to include reduction in overall operating costs
  6. Oversee Purchasing projects from concept to inception and through to the execution and completion of the project plan. Examples include Process Improvement and Inventory reduction projects.  
  7. Manage inventory - Support programs or new technology tools such as New Products Introductions and the implementation of SAP.

 

Requirements

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or Engineering
  2. 5+ years of experience in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment with procurement of Metals, Resins, Plating services, Packaging & MRO preferred
  3. Advanced computer skills and highly proficient in MS Word & Excel, as well as utilization of ERP system such as SAP, Plex or equivalent to determine MRP and Purchasing requirements.
  4. Actual hands-on and demonstrated accomplishments in ensuring parts supply to keep manufacturing running, while in parallel maintaining desired inventory levels at RM, WIP, FG levels
  5. Strong math skills - ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, areas, ratios, and volume.
