Responsibilities include the setup and fabrication of machined parts and assemblies. The shop operates primarily as a quick turn prototyping area. Convert Solid Works models into CNC programs (MasterCam). Model making, creating parts from conceptual sketches. Create tooling and fixtures to support fabrication of parts. Setup and breakdown of parts runs. Maintenance and routine servicing of machinery.
Requirements
5+ years direct experience in the machine shop tool (lathes, mills, shear…) operation. Direct knowledge of CNC equipment programming and operation. Direct knowledge of machine shop safety requirements and responsibilities. Must be able to produce prototype parts from sketches. Knowledge of cutting tool parameters. Knowledge of aluminum, steel, plastics and their properties and of finishing and plating techniques.
