PURPOSE OF JOB

The molding operator’s main responsibility is to run the molding equipment that he or she is assigned in order to produce quality product at optimal machine efficiency.

Essential Job Duties:

• Prepares molding machine for operation by cleaning work area, organizing tools, and reviewing documentation.
• Operates machine, monitors output quality to insure that product produced meets with     quality system standards.
• Ability to comprehend drawings and use measuring equipment as needed.
• Follows all product handling procedures; handles product with care.
• Use inspection microscope and toolmakers microscope to verify workmanship of product.
• Monitors output during shift to ensure that standard run rates are achieved.
• Alerts floor technician, work leader or supervisor of any problems with machine and/or quality of product produced.
• Ability to perform minor repairs/changeovers when needed if trained and experienced to execute this function.
• Communicates pass down information if pertinent to job assignment.
• Clean, organize work area upon completion of shift.
• Ability to stand throughout eight-hour shift.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
• Ability to perform related tasks as needed by following verbal and written instructions.
• Performs other duties as required.
