Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, filters, etc. Assists in the installation and or moves of machinery. Installs and repairs and fits piping used to deliver air, gas and some liquids to various systems and processes. Clean and lubricate parts, and replace filters. Works with all sizes of steel, iron, copper piping. Repairs or replaces various piping, bearings, oil and mechanical seals, gears, sprockets, chains, sheaves, and belts and filters. Utilizes knowledge of the particular intricacies of various types of metals, lubricants, equipment and/or machinery properties and parts for preventative maintenance and repair duties. May set-up and or assist in blocking and rigging equipment to service or repair a limited number of shop machinery or equipment. All types of wrenches, pipe cutters, torches, snakes, drills, taps, ladders, staging, rigging equipment, threading equipment, bending equipment, welding machines, cut-off machines, fork trucks, overhead cranes, general mechanical tools, saws, and power tools. May use standard shop equipment such as, drills, table and bench machines, grinders, and presses.
