Electronics background with some understanding of optics. Ability to interpret electrical schematics and to strip, cleave, and splice optical fibers a plus. Basic soldering skills and ESD awareness. General knowledge of fiber optic components and test equipment is helpful. Experience with optical and electrical test methods in support of active fiber devices such as fiber amplifiers and lasers. Troubleshooting experience. Must have electrical experience.
ASEE, ASEO, Technical Schooling or equivalent experience desired. Mostly in house repair. Must have the ability to travel approximately 25-30% of the time. Primarily regional travel with the ability to travel nationally.
