Custom machine shop and manufacturing company located in North Billerica, MA is currently seeking an experienced CNC lathe machinist/programmer. Qualified candidates should have a minimum of five years practical experience programming, setting up and operating CNC lathes. Candidates must also be capable of verifying the acceptability of machined components using conventional inspection equipment. Our machinery includes Mori-Seiki CNC mill/turn lathes with Mori-Seiki controllers. Our programmers currently use the Mori-Seiki CAPS programming interface but the company is willing to invest in alternative programming software as necessary.

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes.

  • Strong background in custom machining and precision manufacturing environments.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient with Mori-Seiki CNC mill/turn lathes (Mori-Seiki controllers preferred).

  • Experience with Mori-Seiki CAPS programming interface (or willingness to learn new software).

  • Skilled in blueprint reading, machining to tight tolerances, and conventional inspection techniques.

  • Ability to verify part accuracy using standard inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
