Secondary Operator
Position Summary
The Secondary Operator is responsible for performing precision finishing and secondary processing operations on manufactured parts. This role includes deburring, laser marking, blasting, and electropolishing
Key Responsibilities
Deburring Operations
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, and excess material from machined parts using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment
- Interpret work instructions, blueprints, and part drawings
- Inspect parts for surface defects and dimensional compliance
- Maintain cosmetic and functional quality standards
Laser Marking Operations
- Operate laser marking equipment to apply serial numbers, logos, barcodes, and other identifiers
- Verify marking accuracy, placement, and readability
- Load and unload parts while maintaining proper alignment
- Follow traceability and documentation requirements
Blasting Operations
- Operate blasting equipment to clean, finish, or texture surfaces
- Select appropriate media based on material and finish requirements
- Monitor equipment settings and blasting parameters
- Ensure parts meet specified surface finish standards
Electropolishing Operations
- Perform electropolishing processes to improve surface finish and corrosion resistance
- Follow chemical handling and safety protocols
- Monitor process times, temperatures, and solution conditions
- Rinse, neutralize, and dry parts per procedure
Quality & Safety
- Perform in-process inspections using measuring tools and visual inspection methods
