Job Purpose

Provide maintenance reliability systems and equipment consulting for the facility. Perform technical consulting in various offerings, such as root cause failure analysis, reliability centered maintenance, uptime, and system preventive maintenance.

Essential Functions

  • Identify and document all assets and supplies within the sugar receiving, storage, and delivery systems.
  • Support the identification, tracking, and management of critical spare parts and inventory.
  • Partner with the Maintenance Manager and Plant Director to identify and recommend capital improvement needs.
  • Review and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) programs for accuracy, frequency, and effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating plant shutdowns, including oversight of contract maintenance personnel.
  • Support the development and revision of mechanical maintenance procedures (SOPs, SSOPs, LOTO, SOCs).
  • Identify, recommend, procure, and maintain tools that enhance equipment reliability.
  • Lead reliability-focused projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety, food safety, and quality standards.
  • Apply visual factory/5S principles to maintain organization and cleanliness in parts rooms and sugar system areas.

Requirements

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

  • 10+ years of experience in plant maintenance, reliability engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive collaboration.
  • Strong capability to evaluate systems, equipment, and processes, and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects from initiation through execution.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, infrared, acoustics, tribology).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of industrial equipment (e.g., airlocks, blowers, dryers, bearings, seals).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
