The Planner/Buyer is responsible for supporting material planning and purchasing activities by analyzing MRP/ERP data, reviewing supply and demand requirements, and converting that information into purchasing and production plans. This position will manage material availability, monitor bills of materials, maintain delivery schedules, issue requisitions and purchase orders, and work closely with Operations to ensure materials are available to support production needs. The Planner/Buyer will also manage supplier relationships, monitor lead times and delivery performance, support sourcing initiatives, and assist with identifying suppliers for new products, prototypes, and production components.
Requirements
Qualified candidates should have strong analytical, organizational, and computer skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and Word. Experience with ERP or MRP systems, material planning, inventory management, demand planning, purchasing, or procurement is preferred. Candidates should understand how to identify material requirements, process requisitions, place purchase orders, and track orders through delivery. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Industrial Management, or a related field is preferred, although relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree. Candidates with 0–5+ years of related experience are encouraged to apply, particularly those with experience in electro-mechanical consumer products, e-commerce, or direct-to-consumer environments.
