Machine Operator $25 per hour

Job Description
Machine Operator utilizes both manual and CNC equipment, which shape plates to various diameters depending on the project requirement. The machine operator continually monitors the quality of the desired shape throughout the process. Responsibilities for the Machine Operator include but are not limited to:

Read and understand job plans to obtain production expectations.
Safely operate overhead & jib cranes to load and unload plate onto and off the plate rolls.
Operate control panel and monitor plate to achieve desired end product.
Roll product to specified tolerance on drawing or specification.
Focus on quality and quantity of rollups while performing tasks with a sense of urgency towards excellence.
Report defective or questionable conditions to the Production Manager.
Previous experience working in a custom metal fabrication shop is (preferred)
Hardworking and dedicated individual required.
Complete job assignments with minimum supervision.

Requirements

Education
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Physical demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for 9 hours. The employee is regularly handling steel plates and must be able to continuously lift and maneuver a minimum weight of 50 lbs.
Language skills
 Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words in English and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Machine Operator position takes place on the manufacturing floor and will be required to wear safety boots, eye protection and hearing protection.
