ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, coordinate, and perform field testing; troubleshoot and repair; oversee installations and prepare reports of completed work and problems encountered
  • Coordinate equipment, supplies and travel arrangements
  • Interface with customers and supervising subcontractors
  • Perform repair work, hi-pot electrical tests and submit reports
  • Conduct high voltage electrical tests of field installed GIL in accordance with standard procedures and/or special nonstandard instructions; maintain records of all tests performed
  • Operate and check RIV measuring instrumentation requiring operation of SF6 gas handling systems and careful use of sensitive SF6 leak detectors
  • Maintain test equipment and ensure always in calibration; maintain clean, neat and orderly work areas

Requirements

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Skills:Strong written/verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Travel:Must be willing to travel on short notice and may be required to stay for extended periods of time.
  • Equipment Used: Basic hand tools and measuring devices. Various computer programs.
  • Certifications: Vocational / technical degree in electricity or equivalent helpful.
  • Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalency (GED) preferred.Good knowledge of basic mathematics, algebra, geometry, statistics and their applications and business accounting principles are a plus.
  • Attendance Requirement: Requires regular attendance during scheduled shift and overtime when required. Willingness to work off shift, i.e., 2ndor 3rd
  • Physical Demands: Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping/using hands/reaching. Spends app. 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing.
