Will work in a temperature controlled area to coat and test fibers used in medical procedures. The process involves using a chemical to etch the fibers so that a coating will adhere to exterior.
- Will weigh, measure and mix chemical formulation for coating material ( powder and liquids)
- Take fiber from spool, layout and measure and cut strands to length
- Cut small pieces of plastic tubing to attach to ends using a small auto cutter machine
- Hang long lengths of fibers on a branch holder and suspend from a high fixture near ceiling
- When coating process is finished, will set up and run a test on each piece to ensure the finished fibers can meet temperature requirements
- Pouch and seal all accepted fibers for shipment using heat sealer and print labels
- Document all steps of process using Excel / computer system
