The Inventory Specialist is responsible for performing regular and accurate cycle counts throughout the manufacturing facility to ensure inventory integrity and support production efficiency. This role helps identify inventory discrepancies, investigates root causes, and works closely with inventory control and production teams to resolve issues. During non-peak inventory periods, the Inventory Specialist will assist with general assembly and machine operation tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts across designated areas of the facility.
  • Accurately record inventory levels using handheld scanners, tablets, or ERP systems.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies; report findings to Inventory Control or Supervisor.
  • Ensure material is labeled and stored in correct locations.
  • Participate in physical inventories and inventory audits as required.
  • Communicate inventory issues, shortages, or overages to the appropriate departments.

Production Support (As Needed)

  • Assist with basic assembly tasks including sorting, packaging, labeling, or sub-assembly of components.
  • Operate light manufacturing machinery or equipment during slow inventory periods, following all safety protocols.
  • Perform basic machine setups or adjustments as trained.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 1+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and basic math skills
  • Familiarity with inventory systems, scanners, or ERP software
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet for extended periods
