Requirements:

Highly motivated individual with a proven track record (7+ years) of innovative work designing precision mechanisms and/or opto-mechanical assemblies

Opto-mechanical experience preferred but not required

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering; graduate degree is preferred but not required

Expert in the use of SolidWorks or similar CAD software

Experience with FEA, primarily static, modal, and thermal

Enjoys hands-on work in the lab. It is routine to build and test your own designs.

Eager to tackle the most challenging mechanical design problems in the company

An emerging leader – experience as a technical lead, project lead, and/or working directly with customers

Direct experience designing systems incorporating some or all of the following:

• • High precision motorized mechanisms
  • Lens and mirror mounts – large and small
  • Flexures and kinematic mounts
  • Precision engineering techniques
  • Metal castings and/or plastic moldings
  • Designing complex precision instruments for manufacture
