Job Description:
The CNC Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC VMC machines to produce precision machined parts while maintaining quality and safety standards. This position reviews travelers, blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, machining parameters, and GD&T requirements; programs mills and lathes; sets zero and reference points, tool registers, offsets, and compensation; performs machine setups using chucks, collets, tooling, and fixtures; and verifies first-run and in-process parts. The Machinist will perform drilling, grooving, turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations, troubleshoot machining issues, adjust or reprogram controls as needed, replace worn tooling, and inspect completed work using calipers, micrometers, gauges, tape measures, and other measuring devices. Parts and materials may also be moved manually or with hoists, cranes, forklifts, or hand trucks.

 

Requirements

Requirements:
Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of machining experience or a combination of vocational education in machining and relevant work experience. Must be able to set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes, read and interpret blueprints and GD&T, perform basic math, geometry, and trigonometry calculations, and inspect their own work using precision measuring equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to troubleshoot machining processes and make necessary machine adjustments are required. CNC programming experience is a plus, and candidates must be available for overtime as needed.
